چکیده

Purpose To compare patient radiation doses in cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) of two mobile systems used for navigation-assisted mini-invasive orthopedic surgery: O-arm®O2 and Surgivisio®. Methods The study focused on imaging the spine. Thermoluminescent dosimeters were to measure organs effective (ED) during CBCT. An ionization-chamber a solid-state sensor incident air-kerma (Ki) at center CBCT field-of-view Ki 2D-imaging, respectively. PCXMC software was calculate ED 2D configurations. image quality evaluated with CATPHAN phantom. Results experimental estimate low-dose 3D-modes 2.41 0.35 mSv (Low Dose 3D-small-abdomen) Surgivisio® (3DSU-91 images), results consistent: 1.54 0.30 mSv. Organ 5 12 times lower skin comparable lateral 2D-imaging (0.5 mGy), but anteroposterior (0.3 versus 0.9 mGy). Both show poor low contrast resolution similar high spatial (7 line-pairs/cm). Conclusions This is first evaluate organ A significant difference observed between systems. demonstrates that spine delivers approximately five six less ED, compared O-arm®O2, dose 3D-modes. Doses 2D-mode preceding higher Surgivisio®, negligible under conditions tested.

Mobile C-arm cone-beam CT for guidance of spine surgery: Image quality, radiation dose, and integration with interventional guidance.

PURPOSE A flat-panel detector based mobile isocentric C-arm for cone-beam CT (CBCT) has been developed to allow intraoperative 3D imaging with sub-millimeter spatial resolution and soft-tissue visibility. Image quality and radiation dose were evaluated in spinal surgery, commonly relying on lower-performance image intensifier based mobile C-arms. Scan protocols were developed for task-specific ...

Evaluation of Factors Affecting Absorbed Dose, Optimization Methods and Patient Dose Reduction in Dental Cone Beam CT (CBCT)

Introduction: Nowadays the use of cone beam computed tomography in dental imaging is increasing, although this method has a much lower dose than conventional CT scans, it delivers a higher dose than the panoramic and periapical patients therefore, , the aim of this study was to investigate the factors affecting the patients' dose in dental CBCTs and methods of optimizing and reducing the patien...

Patient radiation dose and protection from cone-beam computed tomography

After over one decade development, cone beam computed tomography (CBCT) has been widely accepted for clinical application in almost every field of dentistry. Meanwhile, the radiation dose of CBCT to patient has also caused broad concern. According to the literature, the effective radiation doses of CBCTs in nowadays market fall into a considerably wide range that is from 19 µSv to 1073 µSv and ...
